it depends. cuz if the kid is doing good, then i guess maybe he/she doesn't need it, but if they're not doing so well, then maybe it would give them a little motivation.

well put it this way...if you pay a kid for doing good then they will try their best to be good but some ppl are just no good at tests...i know sum smaaaaart ppl who choke....so who knows if it works

I think it works, but only to a certain extent.
Kids should want to do well to be all around better people...as lame as that sounds.
